Dua Qunoot — The Witr Supplication

Dua Qunoot — The Witr Supplication

The Prophet ﷺ taught this supplication to his grandson al-Hasan to recite in Witr (Abu Dawud 1425). It asks for guidance, well-being, ally-ship, blessing, and protection from what has been decreed — the essentials of a believer's night.
Allahumma ihdini fiman hadayta, wa 'afini fiman 'afayta, wa tawallani fiman tawallayta, wa barik li fima a'tayta, wa qini sharra ma qadayta, fa innaka taqdi wa la yuqda alayk, wa innahu la yadhillu man walayta, wa la ya'izzu man 'adayta, tabarakta rabbana wa ta'alayt
O Allah, guide me among those You have guided, grant me well-being among those You have granted well-being, take me as an ally among those You have taken as allies, bless me in what You have given me, protect me from the evil of what You have decreed. Verily You decree and none can decree over You, and none is humbled whom You have befriended, nor is anyone mighty whom You have opposed. Blessed are You, our Lord, and Exalted.
