Surah An-Nas — Refuge from the Whisperer

Surah An-Nas — Refuge from the Whisperer

The Quran closes with refuge. An-Nas seeks the protection of mankind's Lord, King, and God from the retreating whisperer — the inner campaign of shaytan against the heart. Together with Al-Falaq it forms the complete shield of the Mu'awwidhatain.
Qul a'udhu bi rabbin-nas, malikin-nas, ilahin-nas, min sharril-waswasil-khannas, alladhi yuwaswisu fi sudurin-nas, minal-jinnati wan-nas
Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind, the Sovereign of mankind, the God of mankind, from the evil of the retreating whisperer, who whispers into the breasts of mankind — from among the jinn and mankind.

Virtue and Source

Recite with Al-Falaq morning, evening and before sleep for complete protection — Abu Dawud 5082

When to Recite It

Recite it with Al-Falaq three times morning and evening, after every prayer, before sleep, and during illness — the Prophet ﷺ used both surahs as ruqyah for himself (Bukhari 5016).
Count this dhikr daily in Dhikr Garden — every recitation waters a tree in your garden.
