Duas for Gratitude — Thanking Allah

شُكْر
"If you are grateful, I will surely increase you" (Quran 14:7). Gratitude is the believer's response to every blessing — and these duas put that gratitude into the words Allah Himself taught.

1. Alhamdu lillahi rabbil 'alamin

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ
Alhamdu lillahi rabbil 'alamin
All praise be to Allah, Lord of all the worlds
The opening of Al-Fatiha — the most repeated dhikr in a Muslim's day. (Quran 1:2)

2. Rabbana atina fid-dunya hasanatan wa fil-akhirati hasanatan waqina 'adhaban-nar

رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ
Rabbana atina fid-dunya hasanatan wa fil-akhirati hasanatan waqina 'adhaban-nar
Our Lord, give us good in this world and good in the Hereafter, and protect us from the punishment of the Fire
The most beloved and comprehensive dua. The Prophet ﷺ recited it often. (Bukhari 4522, Muslim 2690)
