The Prophet's ﷺ Dua Against Anxiety and Grief

The Prophet's ﷺ Dua Against Anxiety and Grief

This supplication seeks refuge from eight burdens in pairs: anxiety and grief, incapacity and laziness, miserliness and cowardice, debt and being overpowered. The Prophet ﷺ said it so regularly that Abu Sa'id reported Allah removed his worry and settled his debt through it (Abu Dawud 1555).
Allahumma inni a'udhu bika minal-hammi wal-hazan, wal-'ajzi wal-kasal, wal-bukhli wal-jubn, wa dhala'id-dayni wa ghalabatir-rijal
O Allah, I seek refuge in You from anxiety and grief, from incapacity and laziness, from miserliness and cowardice, and from being overwhelmed by debt and overpowered by men.
