Surah Al-Ikhlas — A Third of the Quran

Surah Al-Ikhlas — A Third of the Quran

Four short verses that define pure monotheism — and the Prophet ﷺ swore they equal one third of the Quran (Bukhari 5013). A companion who loved to repeat it in every prayer was told: "Your love of it has entered you into Paradise" (Tirmidhi 2901).
Qul huwallahu ahad, Allahus-samad, lam yalid wa lam yulad, wa lam yakun lahu kufuwan ahad
Say: He is Allah, the One. Allah, the Eternal Refuge. He neither begets nor is born. Nor is there any equivalent to Him.

Virtue and Source

Equal to one-third of the Quran in reward — Bukhari 5013, Muslim 811

When to Recite It

Recite it three times morning and evening with the two protective surahs, in the Sunnah prayers of Fajr and Witr, and before sleep — three recitations carry the reward of completing the Quran once.
